Joan Lachkar, Ph.D.Joan Lachkar, Ph.D., is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in private practice in Sherman Oaks, California, who teaches psychoanalysis and is the author of the upcoming The Disappearing Male as well as How to Talk to a Borderline, How to Talk to a Narcissist (2007), The V-Spot: Healing Your Vulnerable Spot from Emotional Abuse, The Many Faces of Abuse: Treating the Emotional Abuse of High -Functioning Women (1998), The Narcissistic/Borderline Couple: A Psychoanalytic Perspective on Marital Treatment (2nd Edition) (1992), several books now in production and numerous articles and presentations on marital and political conflict.

 

Joan Lachkar speaks nationally and recently presented, "The Psychopathology of Terrorism" at the International Psychohistorical Association. She is an affiliate member of the New Center for Psychoanalysis, an adjunct professor at Mount Saint Mary's College, a psychohistorian, is on the editorial board of the Journal of Emotional Abuse, and is currently writing her new book on Aggression and Cruelty in Cross-Cultural Couples and The “V” Spot. Healing Your Innermost Vulnerabilities from Emotional Abuse.
